‘Magic In Mind’ Stand Up Magic Show Outline (Material subject to change without notice)
Be prepared to open your mind to the unbelievable as Anthony leads you on a comical journey into the impossible. The only more amazing than the magic is the laughter.
Introduction and Warm Up Exercises
The performer is introduced and takes the stage. Anthony leads the audience on a couple of ‘magical’ warm up exercises.
In The News
The identity of a freely selected card is revealed in a newspaper article. Amazingly the article is on full display in a prediction envelope prior to the card being selected by a member of the audience.
The Money Game
The performer requests the loan of a $20 bill. The serial number is recorded and the borrowed bill initialed for security reasons. The owner of the bill is invited on stage to try and win their bill back playing a game of chance. The magician folds the bill into eighths and places it under a handkerchief for the spectator to hold.
If the spectator can correctly name three of the digits in the bill’s serial number he will win back his bill. If he can’t the performer states that he will show him an amazing trick and provide him a consolation prize which is on display in full view of the audience.
The spectator names three digits but all three are not in the serial number. The performer dramatically whisks away the handkerchief revealing the bill has vanished. The performer explains to the spectator that the vanishing of his bill was the amazing trick.
The performer instructs the spectator to retrieve the ‘consolation prize’ – a brown paper lunch bag. Inside is an inflated balloon with something inside. The spectator pops the balloon and removes a $20 bill. The serial number and initials are verified. It is his $20 bill!
Finding A Needle In A Haystack
A helper from the audience freely thinks of any word on a sheet of newspaper. The performer tears the newspaper in half and the audience determines which half is discarded. The remaining piece is again ripped in half. The audience again determines which piece is discarded.
This is repeated until only a small piece of newspaper is left. Another member of the audience randomly points to any word on that piece. The word pointed to by this spectator is the same word as that thought of by the first helper.
Cellular Telepathy
Anthony displays a deck of cards and explains that he has reversed one card in the deck. Three audience volunteers are asked to call someone on their cell phones. These three people, who are not at the event, determine the identity of a playing card. One selects the color, one the suit and one the value. Miraculously this randomly selected card matches the reversed card in the deck!
Houdini Escape
A comedy presentation of a Houdini style escape. Two volunteers securely lock Anthony’s hands into handcuffs behind his back. The two then raise a curtain around him. Although his hands are securely locked Anthony performs a number of impossible feats behind the curtain. He moves his locked hands from behind his back to in front of his body. He separates his hands widely. He takes his jacket on and off. In between each feat the volunteers lower the curtain and confirm that his hands are securely locked together. To conclude Anthony successfully escapes.
